Right on cue, the air turned crisp and a few brown leaves fell from select trees yesterday. I love this time of year. As I'm settling into the idea of this new job, I'm thinking more about how to develop friendships in this community. I know that I have to be very intentional about it. It is very easy to just go to work, come home, cook dinner, tuck the kid into bed, and watch a movie or read a book. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Get up and do it all over again. I already know that I can't live like this for too long. I will go nuts. So, I'm trying to do at least one social thing a week. Last week I went to a book release party by an amazing infant psychologist. Tomorrow I'm going to hear Sherman Alexie speak and hopefully drag along a friend.
In other news, there's a crazy lady stalking me. Well, she's professionally stalking me. She talks to anyone who will listen about how terrible I am. I don't know why. She kind of reminds me of the crazy lady I dated in Chicago for a couple of months, but the weird part is that with this woman I've never had much personal interaction with her. It's strange.
